Completing My NCFE Course
Introduction
Twelve weeks ago I started my NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Cyber Security Practice, and this post is a reflection on finishing it - what the course actually covered, what stuck with me, and where I plan to take these skills next.
What I Covered
Over the course of the programme, I worked through:
- Core cybersecurity fundamentals and terminology
- Network security and infrastructure basics
- Ethical hacking and penetration testing techniques
- Hands-on lab work using SOC and offensive simulation exercises
Each module built on the last, moving from theory into more practical, lab-based work as the weeks went on.

Conclusion
Completing this course is a solid marker in my transition from law to tech, and proof that the fundamentals I set out to learn back in May have actually landed. I’ll keep documenting the next steps here as I take this knowledge further.
